Abstract. The freshwater bivalve Microcondylaea bonellii is classified as Vulnerable according to the last IUCN Red List assessment and also listed in Annex V of the Habitats Directive. According to more than one hundred years old data, the species was present in Slovenia in a restricted section of the Vipava River and its tributary the Lijak Stream, which is also the species’ type location. We surveyed all previously known as well as new potential localities for M. bonellii. Live mussels were found only in the lower part of the Vipava River, but not in the Lijak Stream. Nevertheless, the population in Slovenia is isolated from other populations and restricted only to 16 km of the Vipava River. Unfortunately, key sections of the Vipava River have been subjected to habitat destruction in the past and are threatened by ongoing engineering works and developments. Thus the legislation should be taken into strict consideration immediately if we want to preserve this protected species and its habitat.

Abstract. An acoustic survey of bats was conducted throughout 2016 on the slopes of the hill Črna griža near Kozina, and from the end of August 2016 to the end of October 2017 on a small Griško polje plateau close to the village of Dolenja vas near Senožeče — both sites are located in the south-west of Slovenia. Echolocation calls of Tadarida teniotis were recorded at both sites. T. teniotis was recorded near Kozina during 11 nights from April to October 2016, but it was rare, with its 38 passes constituting just 0.53% of all bat passes. It was even rarer near Dolenja vas where it was recorded twice only on the hill Veliki Ognjivec — in April and October 2017 — where constituting only 0.0001% of all bat passes. Both sites are located on the northern border of T. teniotis Submediterranean range. T. teniotis is the 31st bat species recorded in Slovenia and the 30th bat species currently living in the country.

Abstract. In April and May 2019, two ascomycetous species – Vibrissea filisporia (Bonord.) Korf & A. Sánchez 1967 and Cudoniella tenuispora (Cooke & Massee) Dennis 1974 were observed in Tivoli, Rožnik and Šiška hill Landscape Park in central Slovenia. This is the first evidence of their presence in the country. Despite specific growth condition requirements, there is a reasonable probability that these two species grow also elsewhere in Slovenia, but have simply been overlooked. We recommend further studies of suitable habitats for the species, to complete the knowledge on their distribution within the country.

Izvleček. V aprilu in maju 2019 sta bili na območju zavarovanega območja Krajinskega parka Tivoli, Rožnik in Šišenski hrib v osrednji Sloveniji najdeni dve glivi zaprtotrosnici, Vibrissea filisporia (Bonord.) Korf & A. Sánchez 1967 in Cudoniella tenuispora (Cooke & Massee) Dennis 1974.

Interstitial fauna of the Sava River in eastern Slovenia. (EN) Intersticijska favna reke Save v vzhodni Sloveniji.

Abstract. Interstitial water that occupies the pore spaces within unconsolidated sediments is a unique habitat, inhabited by surface as well as exclusively subterranean species (stygobionts). The best studied of all interstitial habitats is the hyporheic zone, an interface between surface water and groundwater (phreatic zone) environments. The Sava River in central Slovenia (i.e., at the Ljubljana alluvial plain) readily qualifies as one of the global hotspots of interstitial biodiversity, while data from other river sections are lacking. In 2015, we sampled two gravel bars on the final Slovenian section of the river (Eastern Slovenia), and collected nine samples per site using the Bou-Rouch pumping method. At »Čatež ob Savi« and »Obrežje« sites, at least 26 invertebrate species with 14 stygobionts and 25 invertebrate species with 13 stygobionts were identified, respectively. Altogether, 33 invertebrate taxa with 16 stygobionts were recorded, which increased the previously known interstitial stygobiotic richness of the Sava River in Slovenia by eight species (to 37 species). Three species of the stygobiotic amphipod genus Niphargus were recorded in Slovenia for the first time, one of which is even a new species to science. We discuss the novel results in the context of current national conservation practices.

V prispevku izsledke obravnavamo v luči trenutne naravovarstvene prakse.
